Student Brittney Ford aims to change lives through sustainable development.

     As founder and CEO of Eco Comfortable Project, Inc., a start-up nonprofit organization, social entrepreneur Brittney Ford plans to take waste products and transform them into functional materials.

     “My goal and the mission of Eco Comfortable Project, Inc. is to advocate for lifestyle equity and strive toward global sustainability,” says Ford, 23, a student at California State University Dominguez Hills.

Wondering what to do between classes? Here's what is happening:


  • Dance Latin style with Toro Productions 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday nights in the Loker Student Union room DB A.

  • Open microphone night, “Take The Mic,” will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday Sept. 17 in Loker Student Union Ballroom C. All performers and spectators are welcome. 

  • A comedy show titled “Laugh My Class Off” is 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 18 in the Loker Student Union Ballroom C. Food, drinks and laughs included. 

  • Women's Soccer takes on U.C. San Diego at 6 p.m. Friday Sept. 19 at home. Tickets will be on sale at the game for $5 or $3 with school I.D.

  • ​A school trip to The Getty takes off at 9 a.m. Sept. 19. Tickets for students are $5 and $7 for guests, faculty and staff. Signs ups are now in Torozone.

  • Zumba Tuesdays are 5 to 6 p.m. Sept. 23 and 30 in the Loker Student Union. For more information, contact ASI at (310) 243-3686 or visit LSU 24.

  • Join Toro Productions at noon Wednesday Sept. 24 for a midday concert as well as a craft corner in the courtyard at noon. All students are welcome.

  • Gaming tournament featuring “Call of Duty: Ghosts” will be held noon to 2 p.m. Sept. 25 in the Loker Student Union Torozone. The event is free and prizes will be awarded to the winners.

1910 celebrates change with two-day reopening

Campus restaurant promotes changes to menu and hours with entertainment, wine tasting.

     “1910 is CSUDH’s best secret,” Jairo Bogarin, campus dining supervisor, said at Wednesday’s grand re-opening.

     By holding two-day celebration, Borgarin hopes to blow the lid off of this secret. The event includes wine tasting and fine dining.
