Designed to give students information and knowledge about financial aid, The Financial Aid department will host a workshop on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in LSU Meeting Room 113. Students are encouraged to attend to ask questions about financial aid.

MEMORIAM

A viewing and memorial will be held this weekend for David Michael Villarreal, 27, a California State University, Dominguez Hills student who was fatally struck by a driver in Whittier Feb. 10.
Villareal, a San Pedro resident who grew up in Torrance, transferred to CSDUH in fall, 2016. He was on track to graduate in May with a degree in health science, with a concentration in community health.
A viewing will be held Thursday, Feb. 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a service from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. A memorial is set for Friday, Feb. 23, at 11 a.m. All will be held at the Lighthouse Memorial & Reception, 1016 W. 164th St., Gardena, (310) 792-7580. www.lafuneral.com/locations/lighthouse-memorials-receptions-mcmillan-center/.

 

TUESDAY FEB. 27

The Class of 2018 graduation is right around the corner. If you’re planning on taking part in this year’s commencement ceremony. Head over to the Commencement Fair to begin pre-ordering your cap,gown and other items. The fair will be held in the university bookstore on Feb. 27-28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

 

MONDAY MARCH 5

The CSUDH campus dining department is having a street food fundraiser on the East walk way space 10 on Monday March 5, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The street food gives students more of a variety to choose from with affordable prices. The food prices will range $1 to $8 depending on what you order. There will be more dates to come.

 

TUESDAY MARCH 6

Look no further because it’s the safe space you’ve been looking for! The Rose Black Resource Center is hosting part two of its Black and LGBTQIA2+ discussion group from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Loker Student Union room 132.

 

THROUGH MARCH 14

CSUDH is having a PRAXIS exhibition of new works from artists in LA. The major goal for this program is create space and inform people about art in the Los Angeles community. The opening of the exhibit was Feb. 12, but it will continue through March 14. The exhibition is in LaCorte Hall, A-107 and be viewed Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
