He’s still a student but Tony M. Smith, a senior in English literature, has published his first book, “The Sinful Nature of Sheep.”

It’s a coming of age story that deals with crime and touches on matters of the heart.

Smith has always loved writing. His passion has driven him to not only write this book, but to get it published.

“I have been writing all of my life, but I didn’t start taking it serious until 2012,” he said.

Although, “The Sinful Nature of Sheep” is his first published work, Smith is a prolific writer, who has 11 unpublished books and one play under his belt.

He finds inspiration in many things, and unlike many writers, said he never experiences writers block.

He has dedicated a large part of his life to writing, and a generous amount of time in finishing, “The Sinful Nature of Sheep.”

“I started the whole concept of the book in 2011,” he said. “I completely finished it in September 2015.”

“The Sinful Nature of Sheep” was first launched as an e-book, and a hardcover version was released last year.

Smith made revisions before launching the hardcover, adding important details left out of the e-book that he felt made the storyline more complete.

Smith’s inspiration behind writing the book stemmed from wanting to see his own story come to life. He hopes to make a movie out of “The Sinful Nature of Sheep” one day.

“I just wanted to write a book that I could picture in a movie format,” Smith said.

“The Sinful Nature of Sheep” is available on Amazon or you can get a free copy on campus. Email the author, tonymsmith@yahoo.com for further details.
