Pulitzer Prize-winner Ruben Vives, a reporter at the Los Angeles Times, plans to speak Oct. 13 to the Society of Independent Journalists at Cal State Dominguez Hills.
Vives, who received this prestigious award after uncovering the massive Bell scandal, which led to the criminal charges against several city officials, will talk about growing up undocumented, his work with the L.A. Times, and his big break, which made national headlines in 2010.
Attendees will have a chance to ask questions as well as meet and greet Vives from 6:30- 7 p.m.
The event hosted by the Society of Independent Student Journalists (SISJ) will begin at 5 p.m. and will include refreshments and snacks for those in attendance.
