Career Center helped me land a job at Paramount

The Career Center is a place every student should visit. Thanks to the Career Center, once I graduate May 2017, I have a job waiting for me at Paramount Pictures.

The Career Center is located on the third floor of Welch Hall, Room 360-D. I wandered my way into the Career Center February of this year, and it changed my life tremendously.

After my first visit, I wished I had visited sooner. If a student is unaware of the advantages the Career Center offers, let me state a few facts.

First, the Career Center offers innovative programming tailored to enhance a student’s career and professional development, including career coaching, appointments, workshops, career fairs, employer panels, information sessions and on-campus interviews.

The Career Center also educates students on ways to approach networking and refine their resumes. It holds special programs that introduce students to the opportunity to network with various companies and career paths relevant to their desired industries.

The Career Center’s first special program was held this spring, called “Spring Break Career Treks.” Within this program, students visited 72andSunny (where I interned), an advertising agency, Rubin Postaer and Associates, also an advertising agency, Live Nation/House of Blues and Paramount Pictures. I applied for this program and was overjoyed after receiving my confirmation.

I can truly thank the Career Center and the amazing woman who assisted me from day one with the special event, Kathy Kim, an internship specialist.
