CSUDH is starting an Alternative Consultation Process to receive campus feedback on a proposal that would raise the Health Service Fee.
If approved, students will see a $50 fee hike starting with registration for Fall 2021 semester, the first time the fee was adjusted since 2006.
According to the Student Health Service website, the proposal is a response to an increased demand for mental health services in recent years. Student Psychological Services saw 5,167 appointments with 1,007 students during the 2019-2020 school year.
CSUDH would have the ability to increase resources such as hiring more counselors, enhancing training programs and promote outreach efforts to ensure students are taking advantage of the services offered.
Students will have the chance to voice their opinions on open campus forums via Zoom on the following dates:
- Feb. 3 at 1 p.m.
- Feb. 11 at 10 a.m.
- Feb. 23 at 4 p.m.
Students can also submit their comments via email by Feb. 19.
