The Cal State Dominguez Hills Career Center plans to host a three-day internship and job fair on campus next month.

The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 11-13 in the Loker Student Union ballroom.

Career center employees expect 20 to 50 employers to be in attendance.

This is the second year the university has hosted an industry-specific fair. Each day will feature information on internships, part-time employment and full-time career positions from different companies in a variety of fields.

Day one will be focused on careers in the STEM and health science fields, with job offers in social work and healthcare management.

Day two will encompass careers in business, government and other fields, with jobs offered in accountancy, management and information technology.

Day three will feature careers in arts and entertainment, best suited for those pursuing careers in liberal arts, communications, and media.

As with any budding profession, the career center suggests that attendees make a good first impression by doing their homework on the companies for which they wish to apply.

More tips for success include being prepared, dressing professionally, bringing plenty of resumes and not being afraid to ask questions.

A full list of participating employers will be available two weeks prior to the event. Additional information can be found in ToroJobs, or by going to CSUDH.edu/Career-Center.
