CSUDH’s annual Spring Fling is just around the corner. On  Friday April 22,  Associated Students Inc (ASI) is hosting the 2022 Spring Fling at Dignity Health Sports Park. But what is this event? Who will be performing? What can students expect from this event? All of these questions and more will be answered in this Spring Fling preview.

What is Spring Fling? And Why is This Event Held?

Spring Fling is an annual concert event that is held by ASI to encourage camaraderie, celebration and provide a fun, safe environment for students to enjoy themselves. It is a concert that takes place every year toward the end of the academic year, completely dedicated to students and their requests. As the end of the year gets close so do the celebrations like Spring Fling.  It features live performances, giveaways and so much more.

The first Spring Fling event was in 2017 which featured student DJs and performers. Since then, the event has been expanded to feature artists such as 2 Chainz, Giveon, and more.

What can we expect from this event?

This year’s opening act will feature CSUDH Alumni, DJ Persona. The main attraction and event headliner is R&B artist Tinashe. She will be performing her greatests hits and there will be photo booths, a beer garden, food trucks, and merchandise giveaways.

“This year, we are expecting anywhere from 500 to 1,000 attendees,” Said Raven Jade Emmert, the Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator for ASI.

“I think this is a great opportunity to decompress and have some fun because school has been so stressful lately,” said Ernesto Martinez, a junior at CSUDH.

Spring Fling is open to all CSUDH students as well as guests. Guests may include CSUDH alumni, staff, faculty and community members. Spring Fling is an opportunity for students to connect with one another and celebrate the closing of another successful semester. Student staff and faculty can purchase their tickets HERE, which  will be available for purchase until the day of the event. This event is for ages 18 and over. General Admission tickets are $30.
